Construction Calculator: Feet — Support

Enter your dimensions and get the material quantities you need, with a feet-inch-fraction calculator built for the way the trades measure. Here are the common questions.

Why feet-inches instead of decimals?

Construction runs in feet, inches, and 1/16" fractions. The app keeps every length exact — an 8-ft wall gives a 92 5/8" pre-cut stud, not a rounded-off decimal. Type any form: 3' 6 1/2", 6-1/2, 42.5", or 3.5'. A bare number means inches.

Which materials can it estimate?

Concrete, gravel/aggregate, wall framing, rebar, drywall, paint, tile, roofing, decking, pavers, and mulch/topsoil. Each takes your dimensions and returns the quantities, with a waste allowance you can adjust.

How accurate are the results?

Quantities are estimates from public engineering constants (bag yields, material densities, coverage rates) plus a standard waste allowance. Always verify against local codes and your supplier before ordering.

Can I switch to metric?

Yes. Open Settings (the gear on the main screen) and choose Metric. The material calculators then take and show metric units. The feet-inch calculator always works in inches and fractions — that's the point of it.

How do I save and export?

On any calculator, tap Save and give it a project name (a jobsite or bid). Open Projects to see a project's material list, then use the export button to share it as a PDF or CSV for your records or your supplier.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your device. There is no account and no server — nothing is uploaded. Deleting the app removes your saved projects, so export a copy first if you want to keep it.
